The opening line of PSI's mission statement is "to measurably improve the health of poor and vulnerable people in the developing world." PSI believes in measurement because we believe evidence-based decision making is the best way to improve the performance of our interventions. What matters is what works.

Welcome to PSI Research & Metrics, PSI's initiative for evidence-based decision making. We work to improve PSI intervention performance in terms of:

1. Influencing health related behavior of vulnerable populations
2. Increasing socio-economic equity in the practice of risk reducing and treatment behaviors
3. Increasing the health impact of interventions in terms of disability-adjusted life years averted
4. Improving intervention cost-effectiveness, and efficiency in terms of cost per product or service delivered
