The Gambia
David Jeffries oversees the development new initiatives, including integrating country- and intra-country variance into models, improving measures of targeting and the contribution of communications and behavior change interventions; creating a priority setting tool for programmatic decision making, integrating metrics with routine data collection and behavioral surveys, and creating automated systems for generating routine reports. Since 2001 David has worked in the Gambia as the head of Statistics and Data Management for the Medical Research Council. He is a skilled programmer, mathematician, and modeler, and has been a consultant for PSI since 2006. David is originally from Wales but has spent more than 15 years working in Africa, including five years of teaching mathematics in Zimbabwe and Ghana.
