The Canadian
International Development Agency (CIDA) is the federal agency
charged with planning and implementing most of Canada's development
cooperation program in order to reduce poverty and to contribute
to a more secure, equitable and prosperous world.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC) |
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC) is the United States' premiere health promotion,
prevention, and preparedness agency and a global leader in public
health. CDC works with states and other partners to provide a system
of health surveillance to monitor and prevent disease outbreaks
(including bioterrorism), implement disease prevention strategies,
and maintain national health statistics. CDC also guards against
international disease transmission, with personnel stationed in
more than 25 foreign countries.

Department for International Development
(DFID) |
The Department
for International Development (DFID) manages the UK's
aid to poor countries and works to get rid of extreme poverty.
In 2003, DFID published an internal review of the DFID
approach to social marketing which concluded that: "Social
marketing (SM) represents an extremely valuable tool to induce
behaviour change of public health significance, and to improve
access to health goods and services. There are important and valuable
complementarities and synergies between SM and other DFID support
to the health sector, especially the mainstay efforts to strengthen
the public sector health provision."

The Global Fund To Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis
and Malaria (Global Fund) |
• PSI and the Global Fund
The
Global Fund To Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria was created
to dramatically increase resources to fight three of the world's
most devastating diseases, and to direct those
resources to areas of greatest need. As a partnership between governments,
civil society, the private sector and affected communities, the
Global Fund represents an innovative approach to international
health financing.

KfW Entwicklungsbank (KfW development
bank) |
On behalf of the German federal government
KfW Entwicklungsbank
finances investments and advisory services in developing countries.
It typically works with governmental institutions in the respective
countries. Its aim is to build up and expand a social and economic
infrastructure and to create efficient financial institutions while
protecting resources and ensuring a healthy environment.

Netherlands Government Ministry of Foreign Affairs |
The Ministry
of Foreign Affairs coordinates and carries out Dutch foreign
policy at its headquarters in The Hague and through its missions
abroad. It is likewise the channel through which the Dutch Government
communicates with foreign governments and international organizations.

The U.S.
Agency for International Development (USAID) is an independent
agency that provides economic, development and humanitarian assistance
around the world in support of the foreign policy goals of the United
States.
