PSI Appoints New CTO WASHINGTON, DC, April 2, 2007 — PSI President Karl Hofmann today announced the appointment of Dr. Craig Lefebvre as PSI's first chief technical officer (CTO). Dr. Lefebvre is an internationally recognized expert in social marketing and health communications. For over a dozen years, he directed Social Marketing and Health Communication at Prospect Associates and later at the American Institutes of Research. He will assume his duties at PSI in May. Before that he was director of interventions for the Pawtucket Heart Health Program (the first social marketing for health program in the US). Dr. Lefebvre is known for his innovative and insightful thinking about how to enhance the impact of social marketing. He has served as the program chair of the 2003 Innovations in Social Marketing conference; on the Advisory Board of the Social Marketing Institute; and previously served as co-editor of the Social Marketing Quarterly. The role of CTO is a new one at PSI, and reflects a commitment to strengthen and deepen technical strategies in core health areas while striving for increased innovation and health impact. As CTO, Dr. Lefebvre will lead PSI's technical teams in HIV, malaria, child survival and reproductive health, as well as its research and marketing functions. The CTO will work closely with PSI's chief operating officer and regional business units to create a more powerful link between best practices, innovation and adoption by PSI's affiliates and platforms. Dr. Lefebvre has a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, an MS in Experimental Psychology and a BA in Psychology. He completed post doctoral studies at the University of Virginia and the University of Pittsburgh in Behavioral Medicine. He has taught at the University of Virginia, Brown University, Johns Hopkins University, the University of South Florida and currently teaches a course in social marketing at George Washington University. |
