Dr. Heather White serves as the senior technical advisor for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) at Population Services International (PSI). In her role, she supports field teams to develop, implement and evaluate programs in hypertension, diabetes and cervical cancer as part of PSI’s growing NCD portfolio and represents PSI externally in an advocacy role to increase visibility for NCDs.
Heather has over 15 years of experience working with complex international programs that engage multiple partners from diverse settings, including academia, corporate partners, government institutions and the non-profit sector. She earned her Doctorate of Public Health in 2011 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Her dissertation focused on the acceptability of cervical cancer screening among Zambian women. She served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Burkina Faso (2000-2002), after receiving her Master’s of Public Health degree from UAB in 2001.
