PSI in China (Yunnan)
国际人口服务组织中国云南项目办公室
PSI China (Yunnan), based in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province,
applies advanced social marketing techniques with its emphasis on
the consumer to deliver affordable and accessible products and services
particulars for HIV/AIDS prevention and the reduction of drug-related
harm to vulnerable target populations. Funded by the British and US
government for cross-border initiatives, and by the PSI Partnership
Fund, PSI Chinas projects include:

Social marketing for HIV/AIDS prevention along China/Myanmar
border; |

A drop-in center in Kunming
for current and former intravenous drug users to reduce drug related
harm and relapse rates; |

Behavior change communications
and interventions to motivate good needle/syringe hygiene, safer
sexual practices, and health risk reduction; |

Collaboration with the Yunnan
Institute for Drug Use, DAYTOP voluntary detoxification center,
the Compulsory Anti-Drug Unit of the Yunnan Public Security Bureau,
and international and Chinese health NGOs; |

Needs assessments for maternal
and child health interventions; |
| |
Effective monitoring and
evaluation of project activities and results. |
