Project Activities and Highlights
|
| |
A Strategic Plan (2005-2008) was developed in order
to create a vision for REsulTS Initiative. |
| |
The RI roving capacity building team based
in Johannesburg provides technical assistance and guidance to develop
and improve marketing plans, research tools, finance/administrative
systems, and management/leadership practices. |
| |
A capacity building assessment tool identifies
strengths, weaknesses, gaps, and capacity building needs/priorities. |
| |
Regional and country-level workshops, meetings,
and roundtables build capacity with marketing, monitoring,
and evaluation staff on PERForM, TRaC, and MAP tools. |
| |
A monitoring and evaluation system was developed
to assess the project in terms of its outcomes and deliverables. |
| |
The capacity building package reaches country staff
through expert and peer-driven capacity building approaches through
university
courses, distance education, regional workshops, and technical
assistance visits. |
| |
Overview courses reach new hires in country
platforms and international staff. |
| |
Thousands of dollars of mini-grant monies
are distributed for capacity building. |
|
Future Plans
|
| In 2007, PSI/REsulTS Initiative will: |
| |
Expand capacity building package into three country
platforms (Tanzania, Nigeria, and Ethiopia). |
| |
Provide guidance and technical assistance to the
PSI-funded REsulTS Initiative expansion into West and Central Africa. |
| |
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the capacity
building package by conducting and disseminating a mid-term assessment. |
| |
Roll out the capacity building package in each thematic area
with non-PSI organizations. |
| |
Produce case studies, publish effectiveness/ impact
lessons, and add another cohort of participants (approximately
250) |
