Chaque ann\u00e9e, 111 millions de grossesses non d\u00e9sir\u00e9es surviennent dans les PRFM, ce qui repr\u00e9sente 49% de toutes les grossesses dans ces pays, dont l'Afrique subsaharienne. On sait que les options contraceptives limit\u00e9es et les obstacles \u00e0 l'acc\u00e8s augmentent consid\u00e9rablement le risque pour les femmes de souffrir de complications li\u00e9es \u00e0 la sant\u00e9 maternelle et d'avortements non m\u00e9dicalis\u00e9s.
