En juin, le projet a \u00e9galement re\u00e7u le prestigieux Prix Ruban Rouge 2008 des Nations Unies. Le prix du Ruban rouge est d\u00e9cern\u00e9 tous les deux ans lors de la conf\u00e9rence internationale sur le sida et a pour but d'honorer et de c\u00e9l\u00e9brer les initiatives communautaires exceptionnelles visant \u00e0 r\u00e9duire la propagation et l'impact du VIH\/sida. Sanghamitra a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e en 2005, avec le soutien de l'ISP\/Inde.<\/p>\n<p>Shilpa Merchant, responsable de l'ISP \u00e0 Mumbai, d\u00e9clare : \u201cL'objectif principal de Sanghamitra est d'apporter un changement dans la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Les femmes esp\u00e8rent mettre fin \u00e0 l'oppression et \u00e0 la stigmatisation quotidiennes et \u00eatre en mesure de r\u00e9aliser de mani\u00e8re autonome leurs besoins et d\u00e9sirs inh\u00e9rents. Je suis profond\u00e9ment touch\u00e9e par la reconnaissance accord\u00e9e \u00e0 Sanghamitra par un forum aussi prestigieux.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ce prix des Nations unies est le fruit d'un effort conjoint de l'ONUSIDA et des comit\u00e9s des programmes communautaires et de leadership de la XVIIe Conf\u00e9rence internationale sur le sida. L'action et le leadership de Sanghamitra ont \u00e9t\u00e9 reconnus en termes de durabilit\u00e9, d'impact, d'innovation et d'implication des personnes vivant avec le VIH. Le prix n'est d\u00e9cern\u00e9 qu'\u00e0 25 organisations dans le monde et sera annonc\u00e9 lors de la session extraordinaire de l'Assembl\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9rale des Nations unies consacr\u00e9e au VIH\/sida, le 11 juin 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Situ\u00e9e \u00e0 Kamathipura, le plus grand quartier chaud de Mumbai, Sanghamitra s'occupe des femmes profond\u00e9ment affect\u00e9es par le commerce du sexe.
