{"id":60792,"date":"2023-11-15T09:11:39","date_gmt":"2023-11-15T14:11:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.psi.org\/?post_type=news&#038;p=60792"},"modified":"2023-11-15T09:11:41","modified_gmt":"2023-11-15T14:11:41","slug":"kaduna-committed-to-27-contraceptive-national-target-rate-by-2024","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.psi.org\/fr\/news\/kaduna-committed-to-27-contraceptive-national-target-rate-by-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Kaduna committed to 27% contraceptive national target rate by 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blueprint.ng\/kaduna-committed-to-27-contraceptive-national-target-rate-by-2024-perm-sec\/\">This piece originally ran on blueprint.ng.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>November 13, 2023 \u2014 The Kaduna state government says it is committed to financing family planning to achieve the federal government\u2019s 27 per cent modern contraceptive prevalence rate (MCPR) among women of reproductive age by 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Aisha Sadiq, stated this over the weekend in Kaduna during a project mid-dissemination meeting of the Society for Family Health\u2019s Adolescent 360 Amplify Project (A360) in partnership with the Ministry and Primary Health Care Board tagged \u201cRepositioning Towards Sustainable and Scalable Impact, Empowering Adolescents for a Healthier Future\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Blueprint reports that A360 is a four-year project funded by the Bill &amp; Belinda Gates Foundation and Children Investment Fund, led and implemented by Population Services International and the Society for Family Health in Nigeria (SFH).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to her, the current phase of the A360 amplify programme has placed a strong emphasis on Human-Centred Design (HCD) and integration into government health and development systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am happy with the program and how it targets married adolescents in the community by improving the knowledge base and empowering them to aim for higher status in life, adding it is evident that the objectives with these girls, where they educate them on sexual reproductive health, communication skills, financial risk management, menstrual hygiene,&nbsp;and also trained them on manufacturing products, which I have patronize them myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project has helped change the behavior of these married adolescent girls and it has reduced KD the negative implications of maternal mortality and child mortality, stressing Kaduna State Government has already put modalities to sustain and improve the program,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Deputy Project Director (DPD) A360 Amplify, Haj.
