{"id":8148,"date":"2016-05-19T13:49:02","date_gmt":"2016-05-19T13:49:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/psi2030.wpengine.com\/?p=8148"},"modified":"2018-05-22T22:22:34","modified_gmt":"2018-05-22T22:22:34","slug":"new-charity-invites-female-millionaires-to-donate-and-get-involved","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.psi.org\/fr\/news\/new-charity-invites-female-millionaires-to-donate-and-get-involved\/","title":{"rendered":"New Charity Invites Female Millionaires To Donate \u2014 And Get Involved"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s a lot of talk about helping the girls and women of the developing world, but there&#8217;s not a lot of money to back it up.<\/p>\n<p>According to a 2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unfpa.org\/sites\/default\/files\/resource-pdf\/UNFPA%20AAG%20programme%20document_25july2014.pdf\">report<\/a> from the United Nations Population Fund, &#8220;less than two cents [of] every international development dollar is spent on an adolescent girl.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/maverickcollective.org\/\">Maverick Collective<\/a> hopes to change that breakdown. It&#8217;s a philanthropic organization that was publicly launched this week at the <a href=\"http:\/\/wd2016.org\/\">Women Deliver conference<\/a> in Copenhagen. Its 14 members, all women, have each contributed at least $1 million to fund a specific project in the developing world that tackles a women&#8217;s health issue: domestic violence, maternal health, cervical cancer.
