Building Capacity and Supporting Youth Reproductive Choices<\/h3>

Global Health Fellows (GHF) is an international volunteer initiative that places Pfizer colleagues and teams on short-term assignments with leading international development organizations in underserved communities around the world. We are honored to have placed over 25 Pfizer employees in 13 countries since 2005. Leveraging their business expertise, Pfizer Global Health Fellows work side by side with PSI network members to optimize operations, improve supply chain management, and scale-up innovative health campaigns. <\/p>

In 2016, Society for Family Health South Africa (SFH), PSI\u2019s independent network member in South Africa, hosted a Global Health Team of five Pfizer colleagues to strategize ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the country\u2019s leading non-governmental provider of health.<\/p>

In 2015, PSI received its first program investment from the Pfizer Foundation*. The $1 million, 18-month project in Uganda was with Program for Accessible Health Communication and Education (PACE), a local organization and network member of PSI. Its focus is to improve access to reproductive health services for adolescent girls by ensuring that health providers gain a better understanding of the health market from the perspective of vulnerable adolescent girls. The team employed a human-centered design approach to meaningfully engage adolescent girls in the program design and respond to their sexual and reproductive health needs.<\/p>

In April 2017, PSI and Pfizer announced Healthy Communities<\/a><\/strong>, a $1 million collaboration to expand access to life-saving hypertension medicines and treatment services in Myanmar and Vietnam. The Healthy Communities program aims to develop sustainable and scalable models of hypertension management in high-burden countries, with an initial goal to screen more than 500,000 people and train up to 400 healthcare workers to provide hypertension management services in 360 private sector health facilities in Myanmar and Vietnam.<\/p>
