Technical Brief: MEASUREMENT OF SRH SELF-CARE

Measurement of sexual and reproductive health self-care programs and policies is critical for strengthening evidence-based decision-making. A fundamental difficulty of measurement in SRH self-care is that, while most data on health services and outcome indicators are collected by health systems, most (if not all) self-care behaviors occur outside of the formal health system. This presents unique challenges and opportunities for generating evidence, which are explored in this brief authored by the Self-Care Trailblazer Group’s Measurement Sub-Working Group.
