The program consisted of product distribution as well as interpersonal communications and mass media messages promoting the use of oral rehydration salts and zinc to treat diarrhea. As a result, caregivers in intervention villages demonstrated greater awareness, acceptability, and use of the diarrhea treatment products compared to other villages. <\/p>\n<p>In PSI\/DRC, the \u201cLigne Verte\u201d hotline provides quality and factual reproductive health information to male and female callers. Callers may also receive referrals to DRC\u2019s Confiance clinics, pharmacies, and health workers. The \u201cLigne Verte\u201d hotline has proven to be an effective tool for disseminating reproductive health information, particularly with the increases in cell phone usage in DRC.
