Society For Family Health through its Delivering Innovation in Self-Care project has trained over 8,000 women across the 13 local government areas of Nasarawa State in the self-injecting method of family planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our correspondent reports that the DISC project is a five-year sexual and reproductive health program implemented by the SFH, with funding from the Children\u2019s Investment Fund Foundation and support from Population Services International.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Reproductive and Family Planning Coordinator in the State Ministry of Health, Salome Vincent-Aya gave the commendation at the closeout and dissemination of the Nasarawa State and SFH Family Planning performance in Lafia on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vincent-Aya explained that efforts by the organisation would help mitigate the prevalence rate of maternal and child mortality across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
