Diabetes Prevention and Management<\/h3>
\u00a0<\/div>

In 2011, Eli Lilly and Company announced an investment of $30 million over five years to create The Lilly NCD Partnership. Under this umbrella, Lilly has partnered with the Public Health Foundation of India, Project Hope and PSI\/India on the UDAY program in India. The aim is to prevent, detect and reduce the risk of diabetes and high blood pressure, and to improve the treatment and management of persons affected. The program will reach over 400,000 people through behavior change campaigns in two sites – one in North India and one in South India.<\/p>

Through the Connecting Hearts Abroad (CHA) Volunteer Program<\/a>, PSI\/India has welcomed Lilly employees on a variety of initiatives to complement or enhance Project UDAY. For example, CHA volunteers have used their skills to create a model to calculate the cost effectiveness of the project\u2019s communications activities and engagement with pharmacists, as well as assess impact, building capacity both within PSI and Lilly.<\/p>
