PSI has zero tolerance for modern day slavery and human trafficking. This statement is made pursuant to the UK Modern Slavery Act of 2015 and constitutes our endeavors to ensure that PSI\u2019s operations and supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking.\u00a0

Organizational Structure<\/h4>

PSI is an international non-governmental organization that provides <\/span>consumer-driven <\/span>global health services primarily to women, girls, and children <\/span>in the areas of<\/span> malaria<\/span>;<\/span> VIH<\/span>\/TB;<\/span> contraceptives<\/span> and reproductive health<\/span>; water, <\/span>sanitation<\/span> and hygiene; and non-communicable diseases<\/span>. <\/span>With <\/span>more than <\/span>4,500<\/span> staff worldwide, PSI<\/span> is<\/span> based<\/span> in Washington, DC and operate<\/span>s<\/span> branch <\/span>and affiliate <\/span>offices in <\/span>over <\/span>40<\/span> countries <\/span>around<\/span> the world.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Business and Supply Chain<\/h4>

PSI<\/span> operates through both direct implementation as well as contracting with both l<\/span>ocal and international non-profits and NGOs, <\/span>suppliers<\/span> of health products, <\/span>host government Ministries of Health, public and private healthcare providers, pharmacies, health promoters and educators, <\/span>e <\/span>researchers to provide increased access to affordable healthcare goods and services<\/span>.<\/span> In order to<\/span> meet <\/span>a<\/span> objectives<\/span> under <\/span>PSI\u2019s awards<\/span>, PSI <\/span>works with<\/span> suppliers <\/span>and subrecipients <\/span>across all levels of our activities.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Due Diligence<\/h4>

As part of PSI\u2019s commitment to identify and mitigate potential risks in suppliers\u2019 and subrecipients\u2019 operations, PSI undertakes a process of due diligence prior to issuance and signing of vendor agreements and sub-agreements with entities proposing to work on behalf of PSI.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In implementation of PSI\u2019s supply chain and issuance of sub-agreements, PSI follows the regulatory guidelines based on the US Government Trafficking in Persons wording in all commodity and consultant contracts as well as integrating Modern Slavery Act requirements into UK-funded awards. PSI requires its vendors to prohibit activities directly related to modern day slavery and trafficking in persons. Additionally, it requires entities to report any credible violations to PSI and cooperate with any investigations or corrective actions.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Where PSI believes that a supplier or subrecipient is involved in modern slavery or human trafficking, PSI will take steps to investigate in accordance with policies and take appropriate actions.\u202fIn 2020, PSI began to integrate safeguarding discussions and policy reviews with sub-recipients before signing new awards to ensure compliance with donor requirements and PSI\u2019s standards. These reviews continued to expand in 2021 and 2022.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u200b<\/span>PSI is committed to continue taking actions which affirm its zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. In an ongoing effort to improve compliance around modern slavery and human trafficking requirements, in 2021 PSI undertook a further desk review of the risks in its supply chain and with its subrecipients and assessed any areas where risk mitigation around modern slavery can be enhanced.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

PSI will not tolerate any forms of abuse or modern-day slavery in its work or supply chains and has incorporated preventive measures into its policies guiding proper behavior and procedures for PSI personnel and into our vendor and sub-agreement templates.<\/p>
