In a moment when it is particularly essential to maintain malaria gains under the many challenges imposed by COVID-19, the upcoming 2020 ASTMH Annual Meeting is an opportunity to share some of PSI\u2019s latest malaria research.<\/strong><\/p>

In the most unique ASTMH Annual Meeting ever, the global PSI Malaria Department will give one oral presentation and showcase eight posters. The U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) Impact Malaria Project, led by PSI, will convene a symposium collaboration, give two oral presentations, and showcase four posters on the project’s achievements. We are also excited to hear from Dr. Anthony Fauci as one of the four guest speakers during the special session \u201cCOVID-19: Lessons Learned and Future Challenges.\u201d<\/p>

Our research at this year’s conference spans PSI\u2019s four strategic pillars: case management, chemoprevention, surveillance, and vector control. A stand-out theme is using data and insights on community and provider behavior to improve how interventions are targeted and prioritized for geographies or cohorts that are most vulnerable to malaria. Notable highlights include presentations from PMI Impact Malaria<\/span><\/a> that will focus on lessons learned from the rollout of supportive supervision and mentorship in the work of advancing global malaria service delivery, and from the Greater Mekong Subregion Elimination of Malaria<\/a> (GEMS) through Surveillance Project showcasing lessons from its work related to forest-goer health seeking behavior and community engagement in Southeast Asia.<\/p>
