As PMI\u2019s flagship global service delivery project, PMI Impact Malaria owes\u00a0our\u00a0continued\u00a0impact\u00a0to the generosity of the American people and Congressional support, whose sustained\u00a0investments in\u00a0USAID\u2019s\u00a0PMI\u00a0align with this year\u2019s World Malaria Day theme:\u00a0Time to deliver zero malaria: invest, innovate, implement.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To reach the unreached with lifesaving malaria services, PMI Impact Malaria supports\u00a018\u00a0partner countries and their national malaria programs\u00a0to\u00a0meet their strategic goals and advance their\u00a0efforts to\u00a0control and\u00a0eliminate\u00a0malaria. These investments support\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/XKMsmLuc2Ho\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">health workers like\u00a0Foun\u00e8ba\u00a0Traor\u00e9\u00a0in Mali<\/a>, who\u00a0is her community\u2019s\u00a0lifeline\u00a0providing\u00a0essential health services that close the gap in quality care. By investing in\u00a0local leadership and\u00a0health workers like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/usaidpubs.exposure.co\/community-lifelines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Foun\u00e8ba<\/a>, national governments can deliver services, tools, and medicine to where they are needed most\u00a0and build\u00a0resilient, accessible health systems.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Innovate<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite global funding setbacks and health system disruptions\u00a0from\u00a0the pandemic,\u00a0national malaria programs\u00a0continue to innovate\u00a0strategies that adapt to\u00a0health crises.\u00a0To support them,\u00a0PMI Impact Malaria\u00a0works with country teams to\u00a0help\u00a0develop\u00a0and deliver these innovations\u00a0to achieve sustainable health outcomes. In the Greater Mekong Subregion,\u00a0we support an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/impactmalaria.org\/news-and-blog\/posts\/using-surveillance-and-treating-incurable-malaria-to-achieve-elimination-in-the-gms\">innovative surveillance approach\u202fthat combats antimalarial resistance and meets regional elimination goals<\/a>. In Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Mali, and Niger, we continue to support\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/impactmalaria.org\/news-and-blog\/posts\/prevention-is-better-than-a-cure-malaria-chemoprevention-in-mali\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">adaptations to seasonal malaria chemoprevention campaigns<\/a>\u202fto reach millions of children\u00a0each year.\u00a0These\u00a0are among many\u00a0efforts\u00a0that\u00a0create\u00a0safer environments and help health systems stay ahead of global challenges.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Implement<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, national&nbsp;governments&nbsp;continue to&nbsp;lead&nbsp;by implementing&nbsp;tools&nbsp;that improve the quality of malaria service delivery. PMI Impact Malaria supports the implementation of quality improvement efforts through&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/assets.speakcdn.com\/assets\/2594\/pmi_impact_malaria_quality_improvement_technical_brief.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Outreach, Training and Supportive Supervision Plus (OTSS+)<\/a>. This&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lYrsGhNQthY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">supportive, on-the-job training for health workers<\/a>&nbsp;catalyzes the already effective efforts of regional governments and&nbsp;community&nbsp;health facilities&nbsp;by&nbsp;integrating&nbsp;technology, tools, and data.&nbsp;Implementing OTSS+ allows facilities to track&nbsp;progress, make data-informed decisions, and&nbsp;improve&nbsp;skills&nbsp;over time so they can&nbsp;provide&nbsp;the&nbsp;highest&nbsp;quality&nbsp;of&nbsp;care to their patients.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aligning\u00a0this year&#8217;s\u00a0theme\u00a0\u2013 invest, innovate, implement \u2013 PMI Impact Malaria\u00a0remains\u00a0committed to\u00a0supporting\u00a0country leadership, national malaria programs, and health systems through their strategies to achieve their goals of reaching the unreached and ending malaria.
