As Vice President of PSI’s Acceleration Markets Group, Barry leads a portfolio of six countries: Bangladesh, India, Kenya, Myanmar, Nigeria and South Africa. As part of the “acceleration market” for healthcare, each of these countries has global impact, influence, mixed primary care networks and a combined population of 1.5 billion people.
Barry has previously held several senior positions across PSI, including Senior Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean and Regional Director for East Africa. He also served as Senior Country Representative in Cambodia and founded PSI’s program in Laos. Prior to his career in international health and development, Barry worked in the German commercial banking industry and as a researcher in the fields of psychiatry and social psychology in the US. He speaks, reads and writes French, Spanish and German.
Barry holds an MPA in Development Studies from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School and a BA in Social Psychology from Columbia University.
