Ms. Heichelheim is the Chief Operating Officer at Population Services International (PSI), a non-profit global health organization based in Washington, DC. PSI operates in over 50 countries worldwide, with programs in sexual and reproductive health, malaria, water and sanitation, HIV, and non-communicable diseases.

Ms. Heichelheim joined PSI in 1998, and has worked across three continents – Eurasia and Eastern Europe, Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean. During her time with PSI, Judith has provided technical assistance to country programs, particularly on programs focused on HIV prevention among most-at-risk populations. She served as director of PSI’s programming in southern Africa before transitioning to her role as COO.

Ms. Heichelheim has twenty years of experience working in design, implementation and management of global health programs, with a focus on sexual and reproductive health and social marketing. Her professional experience includes strategic planning and budget management, program implementation, research, writing, editing and communications work within the international health field. She has worked in close collaboration with and has managed programs funded by bilateral and multilateral donors. She also has two years of work experience in the private sector focusing on international securities transactions and privatization.

Ms. Heichelheim has a master’s in international health and development from George Washington University’s Elliot School of International Affairs. She is fluent in Spanish and Russian.
