Salma Mazrui-Watt is a management and institutional development specialist with over 30 years’ experience in insurance, private health care, advertising, finance and advocacy sectors.
Salma has worked in Corporate Kenya in various capacities including: CEO, Trans Union Kenya Ltd (An international credit and business intelligence service provider), CEO of Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), Regional Partnership & Fundraising Director World Wide Fund for Nature, Group Head of Marketing, Africa Online Holdings Ltd; a Pan African integrated ICT Provider.
Salma worked with AAR Health Services (a health management organization) for nine years. Her last responsibility was as the Chief Operating Officer. She ran her own business, Corporate Promotions, a freelance corporate communications firm from 1991 to 1996.
Salma has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from George Mason University, Virginia, USA and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Nairobi. She has a Certificate in Corporate Governance from the Commonwealth Association on Corporate Governance. She is currently training for a postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Health Coaching.
Salma is currently the chairman for Population Services Kenya & Marigold Fields Ltd (a property development company), a board member for Population Services International (USA) and a non-executive director for the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife. She has previously been a non -executive director for Kenya Airways, a member of Kenya’s National Economic & Social Council, member of the Governing Council for KCA University and Vice Chair for the East African Credit Bureau Association (EACBA).
