Dr. Fatima Bunza is an obstetrician/gynecologist and a senior public health specialist with a focus on health systems strengthening, reproductive health and sexual and reproductive health. She has more than 25 years experience.
Currently, Dr. Bunza serves as the Chief of Party for PSI Nigeria, which implements the Women’s Health Project in Nigeria. She previously worked as the Health Systems Strengthening Technical Advisor for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-funded Nigerian Urban Reproductive Health Initiative; as Senior Technical Advisor for the USAID-funded Community Participation for Action in the Social Sectors; as a consultant obstetrician/gynecologist and as Medical Director of the Women and Children Hospital in Sokoto, Nigeria.
In addition to her medical degree, Dr. Bunza has a Master of Science in the management of major projects and programs from Middlesex University in the UK and Master of Business Administration in international healthcare management from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in Germany. She also obtained a Diploma in Reproductive Health for Developing Countries from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in the UK and a Certificate in Health Sector Reform and Sustainable Financing from the World Bank Institute in Washington, DC.
