As we approach the UN High-Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage (UHC), we have an unprecedented opportunity to put in place the policies and resources needed to achieve health equity and security. In this issue, look at ways self-care is broadening access to entry points into the health system, offering a path for countries to achieve UHC in 2030 and beyond.
Over the course of our 12 Days of UHC celebration, members of the Self-Care Trailblazer Group (SCTG) shared insights and lessons on how self-care and universal health coverage (UHC) are not only interconnected, but also mutually reinforcing. We invite you to explore each piece and to amplify our call — to build the world we want: a healthy future for all.
This month, the SCTG Secretariat and countless SCTG members attended the International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) 2022. Now, leading up to the High-Level Meeting on UHC in 2023, we must continue to capitalize on this momentum to ensure self-care is recognized as a critical component of both SRHR and UHC moving forward.
From ministries of health to regulatory bodies and purchasers, we partner with private and public sector players to provide seamless health services to consumers – no matter their entry point to care.
Across 40+ countries, we scale digital solutions that make it easier for people to take ownership of their own health, and health systems to use resources efficiently and increase health impact.
We support health systems in shaping the policy and regulatory environment for self-care interventions and ensuring self-care is included as an essential part of healthcare services.
