Elise Mugabo brings 20 years’ private sector and nonprofit experience in grant management and compliance; management of risk, subrecipients (SRs), and financial and administrative systems strengthening; and proposal, contract and budget development for a wide variety of US, European and multilateral donors. She holds an MBA in international business and speaks French with proficiency. Elise has been a part of PSI since 2004, both in the field (Rwanda, Liberia) and Washington, DC.

When Innocent Grant was just 18 years old, he started school to become a doctor. As part of his education, he was sent to his home region in Southern Tanzania to do fieldwork in rural clinics. It was in these remote, under-resourced clinics that Grant says he first became aware of the perils women face in seeking access to safe abortion.
